Tales of Mothers: The Greatest Love
On 1st October 2022 (Saturday), me and my family went to IMAN warehouse sale, and I picked this book together with another 3 books (will review later).
Sejak dah jadi emak ni, anything related to motherhood become
a soft spot to me and this book really took my attention.
This book consists of eight-real life stories about the struggles
of motherhood that had been edited and compiled by Raudah Yunus (a mother who
works as a doctor), together with her husband (Mahmudul Hasan).
These eight stories are really inspiring and quite relatable
to me as I’m currently in Long Distance Relationship (LDR) and need to take care of Z alone with no family around (Most of my family are in Johor, while I am in Cyberjaya) Huhuhu π’
Among these stories, got one story that really touch my heart. Dr Nor Adlina, an unmarried Housemanship Officer (HO), falls in love with an orphan baby, Adam, during her Pediatric rotation. Adam will be in the hospital for a long time because he has several medical conditions and his birth status is complicated. She loves Adam with all of her heart. She will pay visits to Adam during and after working hours, bathe him with the staff nurses, raise funds with other colleagues to buy milk and pampers for him, and play with him if she has any free time. And the most courageous action (in my opinion) was when she decided to adopt Adam as his foster child. Wow!π
As a former HO, I know, how busy we are and how precious our
sleep and leaves. But she is on another level; she still visits and plays with Adam during working hours and visits him on her off days.
I know, with the power of love, nothing is possible. That’s show
how big her love for Adam, despite the fact Adam is not her darah daging.
I I was also moved with the support given by her family (especially
her parents and sister) and her colleague to make sure she got the full authority
as keluarga angkat yang sah to Adam.
Eventually, all of the moms in this book are amazing! And I would like to recommend this book to all mums and mummy-to-be, so we can appreciate ourselves
more and know that how awesome we are
!ππ
That’s all from me.
Much Love,
Huda π
